Kylie Thomas is the author of the book Impossible Mourning: HIV/AIDS and Visuality after Apartheid and co-editor of the collection, Photography In and Out of Africa: Iterations with Difference. In early 2017 she will hold a European Holocaust Research Infrastructure Fellowship and will be based at the Netherlands Institute for War, Holocaust and Genocide Studies in Amsterdam where she will be working on a book on women photographers and resistance to repressive regimes.

Kylie Thomas is a Visiting Fellow at the Moore Institute 2016/17 and an affiliate of the Centre for the  Investigation of Transnational Encounters.
