Among the accolades he has received to date are the European Press Prize (Commentator Award), the Orwell Prize for Journalism, and Ireland Journalism Awards Broadsheet Columnist of the Year. He was awarded an honorary doctorate of laws by NUI Galway in 2017. He has been commissioned by Faber & Faber to write the official biography of Nobel laureate Seamus Heaney. |
