Returning home to lost countries and landscapes with ruins: Germany after 1945 seen with today’s eyes

Elena Agazzi is Full Professor of German at the University of Bergamo (Italy) and one of the most renowned scholars in German studies in Italy. She is a Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation and a member of many academic associations. She was involved in the joint German-Italian project “Re-establishing culture 1945-1961”. Her research interests include classical, romantic and contemporary German literature, and the relationship of literature with figurative arts and sciences from the 18th to the 20th Centuries. She translated works by Goethe, Schlegel, D̦blin, Benn, and others into Italian.
