Margaret (Ma) Heavey was a member of staff in Classics from 1931 to 1977, Professor in Ancient Classics from 1958 and Dean of Arts 1970-1976.

The annual Margaret Heavey Memorial Lecture will take place this year on Thurs 14 March 5pm in the ÌÒ Tn̼thail Theatre (Arts Millennium Building).

Dr James Clackson (Cambridge) will give a talk entitled “How many languages were spoken in the ancient world?”. All welcome.
