Ambassador Paul Johnston and RIA President Mary Canning invite you to hear UK and Irish perspectives on applying the lessons from Covid 19 to strengthen our preparedness for future pandemics on 5 July 2021.
G7 leaders, meeting in Cornwall, committed to strengthening our collective defences against future pandemics – including investing in innovation with the aim of making safe and effective vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics available within 100 days of an international public health emergency being declared.
UK and Irish scientists have been at the centre of our national and global responses to Covid-19. This webinar will explore their experience to date, and the role the UK, Irish and global scientific community can play in preventing, detecting and responding to future pandemics.
Professor Adrian Hill will give opening reflections on his work developing vaccines against Covid-19, ebola and malaria, followed by a panel discussion and questions from the virtual audience.
