The Moore Institute is pleased to promote a lecture on James Joyce and Galway by Dr. Frank Shovlin of the Institute of Irish Studies, University of Liverpool, and incoming Leverhulme Fellow at the Moore Institute during the next academic year. The lecture will take place on Friday, June 1 at 8pm at the Nun‰۪s Island Theatre
Living and working in Liverpool since 2000, Frank Shovlin is from the West of Ireland. He was educated at University College Galway where he took his BA and MA degrees before moving on to St John’s College, Oxford where he completed a D. Phil. in 2000. His research interests include the Irish literary magazine, on which he published a monograph in 2003; the Irish literary revival; the life and work of James Joyce; the history of reading in twentieth-century Ireland; and the history of the book.
