Inger Marie Okkenhaug is a Professor of History at Volda University College, Norway, and is currently a visiting fellow at the Moore Institute. She specializes in the history of missionary and humanitarian activity in the Middle East. She has published extensively on these topics, most notably, the monograph, “The Quality of Heroic Living, of High Endeavour and Adventure.”Anglican Mission, Women and Education in Palestine, 1888-1948 (2002). Okkenhaug´s latest book, En norsk filantrop”. Bodil Biørn og armenerne, 1905-1934 (2016), deals with Norwegian mission and humanitarian work among the Armenians in the years from 1905 to 1940.
