Martin Luther:  Man and Movement

500 years ago, Martin Luther’s incendiary ideas about faith shook Europe, releasing a politically charged religious movement that could not be contained, and which altered the course of history.  In this lecture, Alison Forrestal will introduce this fascinating and controversial figure, examine the ideas that turned him into a hero for some and a villain for others, and place his revolutionary protest in the context of the early sixteenth century.  Luther was a man of his time, so why did he become a man for all times?
