History of art and visual culture is not an academic discipline formally present at NUI Galway. However, it explores areas that intersect with many aspects of the Moore Institute’s research work. It also engages with issues with a bearing on possible new areas of teaching and research in the Philosophy Department.

Isabel Wuensche will investigate some influential ideas concerning synaesthesia, that function in the development of abstract art’s early stages.
