Moore Institute welcomes Visiting Fellows, May 2014

The Moore Institue welcomes Carl Wennerlind, Roger MacGinty, Efram Shera-Shriar and Cristina Bon as Visiting Fellows during the month of May 2014 Carl Wennerlind is Professor of History at Barnard College, Columbia University and will be with us from May 19 for two weeks to work on his project ‘Atlantis Resorted: Mysticism and Political Economy during Sweden’s Age of Greatness. Roger Mac Ginty is Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies at the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute at the University of Manchester and will be with us from May 1 for two months to work on his project ‘Everyday Peace: Conflict calming and avoiding techniques used in deeply divided societies’. Roger can be contacted at roger.macginty@manchester.ac.uk Efram Shera-Shriar is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Instiute of Science and Technology Studies, York University. Efram has been with us since May 1 and will be leaving us next week. His project is ‘Tales from the Voyage of the Adventure and Beagle: Ethnography and Observational Study in Early Nineteenth-Century British Travel Literature’ and he can be contacted on esshriar@yorku.ca. Cristina Bon, a former visiting fellow has returned to the Moore Instiute from the Universitíć Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milano to work on her book about the U.S. nation building process, with a particular reference to the Civil War and the formation of the Confederate States of America.
