In this webinar, two contemporary Irish authors – Sinéad Gleeson and Mike McCormack – discuss the challenges, dislocations and opportunities of writing during the Covid-19 crisis. What new questions has the crisis posed and how has it affected their work and lives?
Panelists
Sinéad Gleeson is an essayist and short story writer. Her debut essay collection, Constellations: Reflections from Life, won Non-Fiction Book of the Year at 2019 Irish Book Awards.
Mike McCormack is the author of two collections of short stories Getting it in the Head and Forensic Songs, and three novels Crowe’s Requiem, Notes from a Coma and Solar Bones, winner of the 2016 Goldsmiths Prize and the 2018 International Dublin Literary Award.
The session is chaired by Moore Institute Director, Prof Dan Carey, and was streamed live on May 4th, 2020 over Zoom, Facebook, and on FlirtFM radio.
