Postdoctoral Researchers (5) Project: The Reception and Circulation of Early Modern Women’s Writing, 1550-1700 (RECIRC)Moore InstituteCollege of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies The National University of Ireland, Galway is seeking to fill 5 full-time, fixed-term Postdoctoral Researcher position(s) for the project äóÖThe Reception and Circulation of Early Modern Women’s Writing, 1550-1700′ (RECIRC), led by Dr. Marie-Louise Coolahan, Principal Investigator (School of Humanities). The positions are funded by the European Research Council, under the Consolidator Grant Scheme, 2013. The successful candidates will be expected to start on 1st October 2014. Project Description The project will produce a large-scale, quantitative analysis of the reception and circulation of women’s writing from 1550 to 1700. The results will enable analysis of how texts, ideas and reputations gained traction in the early modern period. RECIRC is organised in four interlocking work packages to which the postdoctoral position(s) are allocated: (1) transnational religious networks; (2) the international republic of letters; (3) the manuscript miscellany; and (4) book/manuscript ownership. The focus includes writers who were read in Ireland and Britain as well as women born and resident in Anglophone countries. The research team will be based in the Moore Institute, now housed in the new, purpose-built Hardiman Research Building.
