Dr. Conn Holohan receives ‘New Ideas’ award from the IRCHSS
Dr. Conn Holohan of the School of Humanities has received a ‘New Ideas’ award for his project äóÖOurspace: empowering communities to represent their spaces’. The aim of the project is to use digital media to enable marginalised communities/persons to express their own relationship to social space. The project aims to develop a service learning module within which students will work with community groups to produce an audio-visual response to the spaces within which the members of the group live, move and work. The aim is to give the target group practical training in digital media technology and encourage them to use these tools to reflect upon the social and economic forces which structure their everyday lives.
