This paper will reflect on the three languages used for prayer – Irish\, English and Latin – and their manifestation in the print culture of the 16th and 17th centuries. \nBio: \nJohn McCafferty is a Professor of History at University College Dublin.  His research and writings are concerned with religious change in late medieval and early modern Ireland.
