SUMMARY:A rehearsed reading of WHEN THE MOON HAS SET By J.M. Synge
DESCRIPTION:The Irish Research Council and the Moore Institute at NUI Galway present: \nA rehearsed reading of \nWHEN THE MOON HAS SET \nBy J.M. Synge \nOn \nFriday\, 1st March 2013 at 3pm \nAt the Town Hall Theatre (Studio Space)\, Galway \nAfter Yeats and Lady Gregory rejected When the Moon Has Set (Synge‰۪s first completed play) in the autumn of 1901\, he kept returning to it throughout his writing life\, eventually producing several versions of varying lengths. The one being presented here is a new two-act version compiled by Dr. David Clare (NUI Galway) from the various drafts left behind by Synge (and now stored in the Trinity College Dublin archives). Don‰۪t miss a chance to see a live reading of a play that has never been publicly staged\, featuring professional actors familiar from Ireland‰۪s major theatres and from popular productions that have toured across the country! \nCAST: Paul Gibson\, Rebecca Grimes\, Emily Jeffers\, Nicholas Johnson\, \nElliot Moriarty\, and Karina Power \nDIRECTED by David Clare
